A stare at the upwards longitude
A corner, by definition, is the space between two converging lines or surfaces near their intersection. The more you get closer to the point of intersection, the smaller the space gets. Get close enough and it can not possibly fit anyone other than you; hence, comes the notion of seclusion, privacy, peace of mind. You can do whatever you want in your corner. It would be wasteful to still bear the burdens of the world in it; absolutely pointless. I’d like to think that my blog is one of my corners. I’ve been on blogger since April 2006 and I’ve never re-read a post after it’s been published… until last week. They serve as a reminder of how a person grows, how a person changes; and even though most of my posts are hypothetically related to my being, contrary to what most of my readers believe, they all hold a strange non-fictional value to the person I have become. You know how by changing one word in a sentence you could possibly bring clarity to a story? It’s like that with blogging. Words can change things. A blog should be your very own personal corner; your friend, your resort, your pain-killer, your psychiatrist, and your vengeance. A blog can be your very own hug. It can also be your punching bag (comment disabling is required then though). It’s the place where you can vent, where you can be your true self contrary to what people may think of you. And even though it runs through wires of digital space and cold hard drives, it can be the warmest corner sometimes. I hate to be the one telling you this but… even though we’ve established that blogging is the absolute and personal corner, without faith everything is pointless. Deep down, a good person knows that he/she is good and a bad person knows that they’ve screwed up big time. When you know for sure that Allah is watching over you, then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. You know if you’re really afraid of someone you might actually surrender in hope that they’ll let you be? How about if you’re not afraid of Him, how about if that Someone can be there for you the moment you go for Sojood? Unlike with friends, dialing is not even necessary. All you gotta do is whisper… and He’ll be there. Words can change things; especially ones that begin with Ya Rab. :-)
Dear RR,
What a brilliant blog you have (though the red & black are quite disturbing) but your thoughts & way of writing has completely entertained me in the last hour I have been here...
As you know - I just began blogging though I have tons & tons of paper where I have written since the beginning of my time... I just love the feel of paper you know... but I forced myself to blog since I have stopped writing since February & that is so unlike me & felt that maybe if I have this kind of interaction with readers I will be forced to write! It is all for the same reasons that you stated... & true - May you always find Allah in your heart...
Thank you... Your words have kept me company on a quiet & lonely saturday night.
Cheers!

People have been trying to get me to stop blogging since the 1800s. Don't flatter me. It only enrages them more. :P
No seriously.. I appreciate what you said and I totally get what you mean by 'the feel of paper'. I've been writing out my head since I was 14. Wasn't always journal entries or articles and whatnot. Used to be lyrics for songs that I made up in my head.
and... it's not only the "interaction with readers" that brings the kicks around the whole blogging deal. It's the LETTING IT OUT.. and by out it's like OUT THERE in cyber space... one piece of advice though.. never give your blog URL to your friends or work colleagues. You'd have to watch what you say about them then, hence taking away the true meaning of a blog.
Thank you and welcome aboard.

when it comes to blogging, i write with a low staccato fashion. and i realized that blogging is something, and writing is another. that i admit.
for words, i think, are not , at any level, a sort of habit. it is not a hobby as well.
blogging lubricate the lexicon , yet too much lubrication to the words causes early senility, as the biological age of words gets older the more you consume them as a matter of habit, as diaries and blogs.just like the effect of too much cosmetics on female's skin.
yet, i have to admit that the act of publishing, and commenting and receiving comments too is very , very exciting.
yet, as you mentioned, all things, if "all" can be of a larger extent than it appears to have, are boring, and will end up boring , without ALLAH.
el hamdulelah 3la ne3met el islam.
such thing, though it takes one minute of remonstration to deduce, took me a one big journey of unconscious existentialism to discover at the end, that melancholy is the theme, of a godless world, or semi-godless may it be. especially for a one like me, very allergic to sadness, and sensitive to
but what have you got to do with my idiosyncrasies?
i liked your very Evergreen conclusion. and i say Evergreen because being with allah makes me so green like a beautiful ilex holm oak.
And , whisper" you qouted john doe in you profile, why didn't you mention se7en in your favorite movies then?"
that's all.

Dear Alice,
"like cosmetics on female skin". :)
Nice resemblance. Girls look prettier without makeup. Not a big fan of fakeness.
It is the truest thing I've read in years maybe, godless world. How can people, all people, go through with their lives fearing spiders and loving a high school crush or a pop star, I wonder, when there's a God so Merciful and so Great.
Allahomma ehdena elal serat el mostaqeem.
الحمدلله

Having spent around half an hour here, I learnt that I have not ceased my old habit of stereotyping people.
Allow me to begin by saying that I totally adore the black and red. I just love the music. All of these elements give your blog just the atmosphere I love to be in. This is the music I've been listening to all my life. This is the mindset I've been in. This is the life I live in my head.
Coming to the stereotyping part... Well, from the looks of it, I was guessing I'd find an an atheist r agnostic goth or metal fan. I was wrong. You turned out to be very spiritual... outwardly spiritual. So that was a surprise. I respect that very much, but, I found it strange. I am the kind of person who does not like to see religion at the forefront, although, as mentioned above, I am religious. I know and I feel that there are many people out there, atheists or agnostics, who would not be able to understand the logic behind religion or any religious talk. Nevertheless, like you say, this is a journal and this is where you pour your mind. It's about you and only you.
All in all, your blog is very pleasant. I will be coming here more often. Please don't lose the music and the red and black amosphere.
