Like a dog... he barked
He wiggles his tail like a dog, delighted to see his leash holder. He waits for food, shelter, and a ball to fetch every once in a while. He never eats at their table. He even pees outside, far away from home as possible. They don't want him to stink up their lives. They give him a rabies shot. They watch him close around their children. One wrong move and he's out. To gas someone seems easier than ordering a Big Mac these days; especially someone like him. He tells himself that this is life at its best, his purpose and destiny fulfilled. He tells himself that it can't get any better; not even in his wildest dreams. He deludes himself into thinking that they're actually watching out for him. He believes that they'd let him go if only he'd ask. He doesn't want to. He thinks he's setting an example. He's a living proof that they're his liberators, he thinks, encouraging others to pursue the same destiny. To them, he's just something they can pet around just in order to neutralize their lives. He's the balance of it all. They believe that the more they pet him, the kinder they must be. They delude themselves into believing that they can do whatever they want just as long as they'll find people like him to pet, waiting at their front porch, bowing in respect, barking in harmony in a language that they don't even try to understand. This is the kind of freedom they bring. Liberators my ass.
They don't even care what he says.
It CAN get MUCH better.. But obviously not in his wildest dreams nor sweetest ones.. In real life.. He CAN make it.. TRUST ME.. HE CAN..
Brother, stand the pain
We' filled with skin, blood, veins, bone, soul and brain
There's no room for lack of trust
We must just read to act and bust
Don't go back to sleep, time for prayer
Don't let it defeat ya, time to find what's ya real need my player
You who only see me as an entertainer
See this here I have to say; I have this world
But I also have my faith
The early breeze dawn
Is my energy shot
When I don't make it in time, feel like everything drops
Learn from Ali how to fight
Without the ego in sight
I gotta fast for a while so my nature is cleansed
The hidden sweatness from my stomachs emptyness is my friend
U who only see me as an entertainer
See this here I have to say
I want to be free from this ego dog of mine
Cuz it hides who I am and it's wasting my time
Put a leash on it brother
Once he sniffs he is on fire
Learn from Ali how to fight
Without the ego in sight
I gotta fast for a while so my nature is cleansed

With respect,
PS. Lets keep it shoulder to shoulder and feet to feet
Straighten our lines from inside and to on the streets
It's the voice of a new generation that can't be beat
It's that type of music that gets under our skin n meat
It made me bow down to the most high
And realize whoever said that a grown man can't cry they lied
See every soul will taste death
I only fear him
I address his beloved with a peace be upon him

Since it ain't as obvious as I'd have hoped it'd be, hence for the record, this post is not about me. It is about US, as Arabs, Muslims.. and probably others who are too weak to think for their own and pursue a better place.
It was inspired by a discussion that I had with a friend of mine. Some people, I figured, think that petting an animal makes everything ok. Makes their sins forgiven and their lives worthy.
I just felt that I should clear that up ;)

Sadly, you didn't get my point!

Well, I just got it out of the way. Doesn't mean that your words were taken for granted.
No need for "sadly" Sara. :)

I fit that profile to a T. I've heard the name people pleaser quite alot. Since apparently I'm not eloquent enough, no 3 digit IQ nor do I have the right "connections"... then I am set out for a life where I pick up the dry cleaning for those fortunate ones blessed ones. Boo-freaking-hoo, eh?

Naah.. pleasing people isn't wrong so long as you don't make a fool out of yourself; so long as you don't get USED.
The right connections sometimes emerge from making people happy... professionally speaking of course ;)

it's bad if you can't stop or don't know how to stop before making a fool out of yourself, usually one realises too late and by that point one is alrady used. hopefully one learns, but some never learn they get used to living under the whip
master of babling
