My reason to wait
I’ve been listening to theories lately; many, many theories. I’m the listening type. When encountering a serious conversation, I tend to shut up and listen to what the others have to say; call it an indirect survey without consent of the other party, a search for a better something. Contrary to what my Zodiac sign implies, I like to learn more about theories, personal judgments, and ideas of other people… The will to change to a better person always exists within me. Aspire: To long for something great. Is it a crime to be practical, to aim for a better place in the world? According to Carl Schmidt, a political theorist who was born in 1888, in order to have a society you must have the image of an enemy’. If only I could stand in the middle of Ramses square and shout… Wake the fuck up!! The truth is… we are the fuck up. I’ll quote a friend whose words dug deep who said ‘Allah yer7am zaman lamma I aspire for a better How long are we going to endure this extreme denial phase? Amshy walla a3od? :) الحمدلله على كل شيء
To tell you the truth, I don’t like what I’ve been hearing. I don’t believe that we’re heading to a better place in this country, a better global standing. Ah eshta, our FIFA/Coca Cola ranking has probably increased to the twenty something’s position… but is that as far as we aspire?
Aspire… I love that word!
Being an absolute cynic can’t possibly be a sin if you’re passionate, can it?
I don’t like complaining and whining and bitching… but if I don’t do it here, I could fucking kill somebody.
God bless Blogger.
(The Google guys should fucking pay me for this… Link me up you fools!!)
They say that the main difference between the Americans and the Japanese is that when there’s a fuck up, the Americans spend their time looking for someone to blame, whereas the Japs gather up to find a solution.
E7na ba2a… We don’t see the enemy. We don’t see a solution. We don’t see a problem. We barely even exist. We open our eyes but we’re not really awake, we go to work, gossip, throw in a couple of “ma3lesh” and “bokra”, pack our stuff at 2 pm if you’re a public goat or at 5 pm if you’re a private sector slave, go home, eat, watch melody hits or art 7ekayat, go to sleep. We go out to gossip a bit more 3ala a3det sheesha during the weekends and have sex until we have babies… and then that’s it… we’re back to masturbation.
To us, Hope is a porn star’s name… and Aspiration ba2a… oh well.
Today El 7antour wel 3enab are the core soundtrack of our refined culture.
Do you find this blog page depressing?
Should I take the jukebox off?
If you tend to disagree with me, why even bother to come back here?
Give me my share and I’ll declare myself king over my own world and shut the fuck up.
Your rawest post so far. I'd probably have way more to say if I weren't hammered down by the vicious cold.
Just to get it off my chest, please remove the music ! :D

What are you doing to achieve your aspirations other than writing about them here?

Beautiful post mate.
Here is the thing though, you couldn't stand in the middle of Ramses square and shout wake the fuck up because simply, our great negative Egyptians are such great fuck ups they no more understand what waking up feels like, illa man ra7ima rabi tab3an, and those are apparently a select few.
And no matter how much you shout, I say nothing shall wake them up, there is no hope dude or otherwise Zee here would for example have understood that though this post is full of rage, it is yet one more trial to achieve your aspirations and to tell whomever passes here of our magnificent society to wake the fuck up.
Zee, No offense but I thought you should know that already but well, sometimes a word is mightier than a thousand swords. And I guess it is great that not all voices fall down and give up, some people don't, a concept that you should really be friends with.
Again mate, magnificent post.

I do understand the "concept" you're referring to, and at no point have I underestimated the power of words. In my previous question I wasn't really just asking Raven here, but rather just put the question out there too. I'm sick of people talking about problems, cursing the status quo, blabbering about how fucked up we all really are and right in the next minute, they forget all about it and continue being whoever they were before, without even trying to actively take part in that change they wish for. Yes, we are fucked up and we do need someone to keep reminding us of that but in order to gain the right to cuss about it, you have to be actively involved in the change you wanna see, otherwise please just spare us all.
And again,I'm not referring to u personally or raven, both of you I have great respect for, but I'm just putting it out there. I guess you do know who I mean.

I used to want to scream and shout and wake people up.. but then I realized that people do not want to wake up...
Most people think or know that there is little they can do to change things... and therefore they have chosen the zombie like lifestyle....

Em.. the music stays! :P
I will revise the tracks though.. I'll just leave three maybe.
Any suggestions anyone?
Ned... is staying.
Zee, I honestly can't see the point you're strenuously trying to imply. Anzel a3mel mozahra ya3ny walla eh, 7adretek? The world doesn't work that way.. maybe you'll know that in a few years. It's not acceptance.. being passionate about something doesn't mean that you should go through yourself at gun point to prove love and loyalty... especially when you're just one person facing a DENYING culture of MTV kids and sheesha dudes.
And no.. I have no idea who you're referring to. Would you care to elaborate on that?
GBK, Thank you mate.
Nora... the truest statement ever. People don't want to wake up. I, for one, prefer keeping my eyes shut away from many things. Is it right? No... Is it wise? Yes.

Yeah..
Same here.
I have always said said that keeping myself delusional is what is keeping me happy!
:o)
I guess you're right, it is not right but it is wise!
Posted by Nora | 2/16/2008 01:09:00 PM
Oh well. It was worth the try anyway... :P
On a more serious note now.. It's extra hard to make people wake up here because we've been raised to cherish & "aspire" to achieve the status quo - a la "Elli ne3rafo a7san men elli mane3rafoosh". It's been said that when you hit rock bottom, there's no where else to go but up. But apparently "our" rock bottom hasn't been reached yet :/
